HOW TO USE OUR T-SHIRT MOCKUP TEMPLATE

1 – Download & Open

Download our Free T-Shirt Mockup Template for Adobe Photoshop using the button above. Right click the file and Open it with Photoshop. Once the file has opened you should see the layers panel over on the right hand side.

TIP: If you don’t see the Layers panel, go to WINDOW > LAYERS in the top toolbar.

2 – EDIT T-SHIRT COLOUR

Expand the folder named FRONT in the layers panel by clicking the arrow icon. To change the colour of the t-shirt, head down to the TEE COLOUR layer. Double click the black box to open the colour picker window. Use the colour picker to select a colour, or alternatively use the SWATCHES panel to choose a shade. Click OK.

TIP: If you don’t see the Swatches panel, go to WINDOW > SWATCHES in the top toolbar.

3 – PLACE YOUR NECK TAG ARTWORK

If you’re adding custom printed inner neck tags to your order, keep reading. Not getting neck tags? Skip to step 5.

We highly recommend using one of our NECK TAG TEMPLATES for Adobe Illustrator to create your tags.

Expand the folder named NECK TAG ART by clicking the arrow icon.

Turn off the layer named FYAHFLY NECK TAG by clicking on the eye icon. This will hide the example neck tag design.

Click on the green layer named NECK TAG ART. You’ll find this one layer above the one containing our neck tag placeholder artwork. Go to FILE > PLACE EMBEDDED in the main toolbar and place your neck tag artwork onto the template. We recommend making your neck tags a mid grey colour because it shows up easily on both light and dark coloured garments.

Alternatively you can manually place or copy/paste a transparent PNG file into the NECK TAG folder,  then re-size and position as you like.

Once you’re happy with the size and position of your neck tags, collapse the NECK TAG  folder by clicking on the arrow icon in the layers panel.

4 – PLACE YOUR MAIN ARTWORK

Expand the folder named FRONT PRINT by clicking on the arrow icon.

Turn off the layer named FYAHFLY ART by clicking on the eye icon. This will hide the example front print design.

Click on the green layer named FRONT PRINT ART. You’ll find this one layer above the one containing our placeholder artwork. Go to FILE > PLACE EMBEDDED in the main toolbar and place your neck tag artwork onto the template.

Alternatively you can manually place or copy/paste a transparent PNG file into the FRONT PRINT ART folder, or copy and paste the artwork from another Photoshop or Illustrator file. For best results, you should create your artwork inside one of our ARTWORK TEMPLATES

Resize your artwork if necessary using the grid and move it to the desired print position. To show the grid, go to the layers panel and turn on the layer named GRID.

Please note our maximum print size is 32cm x 45cm.

Once you’re happy with the size and position of your front print, collapse the FRONT PRINT ART  folder by clicking on the arrow icon in the layers panel.

TIP: Turn layers on and off by clicking the eye symbol on the left hand side of the layer.

5 – ARTWORK COLOUR ADJUSTMENTS (SINGLE COLOUR DESIGNS)

For single colour artwork, you can change the colour of your artwork with a colour overlay. Double click the layer containing your artwork. This will open up the layer panel options.

Check the box labelled COLOUR OVERLAY and use the colour picker to select a colour. Alternatively use the SWATCHES panel to choose a shade. Click OK.

This will colour the entire image, so this won’t work on multi-coloured designs. Any adjustments to those should be done in the original file, before placing it into the mockup template. This will also only work for images with transparent backgrounds.

6 – SAVING OPTIONS

There are a few options when saving your mockups.

Plain White Background

To save the mockup with a white background, simply go to FILE > SAVE AS. Select Jpeg from the format dropdown and click Save.

Transparent Background

To save the mockup with a transparent background, you must first hide the layer named BACKGROUND.

Then, go to FILE > SAVE AS. Select PNG from the format dropdown and click Save. Alternatively, once you’ve turned off the background layer, you can go to FILE > SAVE AS and select PNG from the format dropdown and click Save.

Custom Background

You can add your own background to your mockups by turning off the white background layer and placing your own background image on a new layer and moving it to the bottom of the layers panel.6

7 – SAVE WITH PLACEMENT GRID

For perfect design sizing and placement, save your mockup and supply it to us with a grid.

To do this, turn on the layer named GRID by clicking on the eye icon. You should now see a red grid appear on the t-shirt.

Then go to FILE > SAVE AS. Select Jpeg from the format dropdown and click Save.

8 – ADD BACK PRINT ART

If you’d like to create mockups of the back of the shirt, hide the folder named FRONT by clicking on the eye icon.

Show and expand the folder named BACK by click on the eye icon to show it, and the arrow icon to expand the folder. Repeat the same steps as in previous steps to change the t-shirt colour, place your artwork and save your mockups.

9 – SEND US YOUR MOCKUPS

Upload your mockups when submitting our QUOTE form. Upload a mockup with a transparent background as well as a version with the grid so we know exactly how your artwork should be sized and placed.
